The Power of Prayer
The amazing things that happen when we pray
To keep one of the successes the devil has had has been in the area of making Christians blind to the power or prayer. In this book. I highlight 25 major proofs of the power of prayer. From how prayer affects demons to how demons activate angelic beings. You will find these points very exhilarating and inspiring.
Think of how empowering it can be to learn what prayer can do. Think of how inspiring it will be when your eyes are opened to the activities in the realm of the spirit as you pray.
That is my objective in this book.
One of the unique things about Christianity is that it promises victory. Jesus comes to Earth and pays the price of sin for man, giving man victory over sin. During the three days he was dead, he went to the underworld and defeated the demons of hell and gave us power and victory over them. He then ascended to heaven and sat on the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us, so that we could continue to walk in victory.
No other religion promises victory over sin, death, the grave, and the devil. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul asks, Death where is your sting, o grave where is your victory? He asks these because Christ dying on the cross took care of all of that. We have victory over death, not just in the resurrection, but for the fact that we have been given power to go into graves and raise people from death. So, while the physical literal grave could be six feet beneath the ground, the grave represented a realm that no man could ever enter into much more think of freeing those held captive therein. When Jesus said all power is given unto me in Matthew, He also meant that we had power of death, grave, hell, sin and the devil.
In the quiet moments of prayer, we enter into a sacred dialogue with the Almighty. It’s not just a routine; it’s a divine connection. The Creator of the universe leans in to listen when we speak. In Psalm 34:17, it assures us, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”
In Luke 11, when Jesus approached Lazarus’ tomb, he prays for the resurrection of Lazarus, and these were the amazing words he prayed. Father, I know you hear me whenever I pray. It is easy to believe that God hears us when we pray, however, when we really get a revelation of that fact, it completely changes our lives. When a man discovers that God hears him whenever he prays, his prayers change. He goes to a deeper place in his conversations with God.
I am absolutely convinced that the concept of dialoguing with God almighty is an exclusive phenomenon to Christianity. Every religion believes in prayer, but not every religion elevates the true partners in prayer to a relationship. The Bible is replete with various acronyms for the relationship that Christians have with God. In some places, God calls us his servants, for instance when he says how can I do this thing without telling my servants; Amos 3:7. In another place, God calls us His friends. Moses and Abraham are two people whom God called friends in the Bible. By extension, we can deduce that when God talks to us like He talked to those two, in response to their prayers, we are talking to our friend. In John chapter 15 Jesus said that he would no longer call us servants because a servant does not know what his master is doing, but we would henceforth be called friends.
This is one of the mysteries of Christian prayer. And this is one of the most essential ingredients in prayer. If you realize this, you elevate your prayers from your myopic understanding of placing requests at the altar of heaven, to a dialogue between God almighty, the God who dwells in heaven, the maker of heaven and earth, the God of all flesh, Jehovah, and his friend. Imagine what a miracle it is that whenever we engage God in prayer, we engage Him as his friends or partners or servants and imagine that He God pays attention.
